一竹辻が花
1500年頃の室町時代に栄えて、江戸の初期１６００年代に途絶えてしまった染物を、４０年という月日をかけて復活させようとした着物アーティストがいます。 それは久保田一竹です。 辻が花染という染物そのものはまだ分からないことが多いのですが、久保田一竹の染物を”一竹辻が花染”と呼んでいます。復活にかけたもはや狂気ともいえる彼の情熱も凄いと思うのですが、美術館で作品を見たときにその迫力に圧倒されたのを今でも鮮明に思い出します。 紅葉に燃える山、富士山、そしてガウディと題した作品。ハワイの夕暮れや波しぶきを上げる海を見ながら、彼だったらどんな景色を表現していたのだろうかと時々思います。 一竹辻が花website http://itchiku-tsujigahana.co.jp/artwork/ Me ka aloha pumehana, Reiko Lewis
